About Janvier Road

Janvier Road was the location of our family’s bungalow, built by my grandfather in 1910 in Gloucester County, NJ. It was a wonderful place to get away from Philly on hot summer nights. I inherited more than 21 boxes of lovely old things – everything from EAPG, American Brilliant Cut Glass, Nippon porcelain, Depression Glass and ephemera. It began my lifelong love affair with antiques and vintage items. I opened an Etsy shop in order to sell the items I didn’t want, and created this blog to share the information I discovered about each one.

The shop is now closed, and I haven’t kept up with this blog for a while, so odds are I won’t respond to messages. However, I can’t bring myself to take the site down because my hard work may still help others identify an item or appreciate antiques and collectibles. I am sorry if links no longer work – it would take forever to update them all. But the articles will help you begin a proper search!

Feel free to use the information on this blog however you want – copy, share, whatever — the purpose is simply to enjoy your adventure in antiques and collectibles. Happy hunting!

I am writing a little piece about jewellery trade and jewellery in WW2. Could I please use one or two of your images of sweetheart jewelry, of course with credits or with a link to your blog?

Janvier, BTW, is French for January.

FOSTORIA NO. 1819 EAPG. The so-called Thistle you refer to that Heacock mistakenly dubbed Dandelion is neither of those flowers, it’s a cornflower aka bachelor’s button.

  6. Hi Sara, finally visited. David in Seattle.

I'd love to hear your thoughts (and corrections)!
